Annual insurance inspection preparation
Annual inspection prep goes smoother when one team owns the whole job. We aim to make the annual servicing and inspection process simple, including contacting and meeting your insurance inspector on your behalf. Annual insurance preparation typically includes:
- Work permits and risk assessments organised and completed
- Boiler strip and prepare
- Thorough clean-through of smoke tubes
- Furnace and rear smoke box cleaning
- Water space checks (check and report on water space condition)
- Valve removal, servicing and refit where needed

What is a proper steam boiler service?
A service should leave your boiler cleaner, safer, and easier to inspect. The exact tasks depend on boiler type, duty cycle and access, but these are the jobs we repeatedly carry out during servicing and inspection preparation:
- Strip and prepare the boiler for inspection access
- Water-side clean, including removal of scale and sludge where present
- Rodding smoke tubes and smoke tube cleaning
- Furnace sweep
- Boiler rebuild work following inspection requirements (when remedial work is requested)
